The Amasaman High Court has denied an application for bail filed by the lawyers of Ghanaian televangelist Patricia Asiedu Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa

In a ruling delivered on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, the High court denied the application from Agradaa’s legal team, led by Richard Asare Baffour.

Nana Agradaa was jailed for 15 years on Thursday, July 3, 2025, after being found guilty of fraud and charlatanic advertisement.

She was convicted of defrauding church members after falsely advertising her ability to double their money.

After she was jailed, Nana Agradaa was incarcerated at the Nsawam Prison in the Eastern Region.

Analysis of Nana Agradaa’s bail application

It always appeared fantastical to apply for bail when facing a 15-year jail sentence, but Nana Agradaa’s lawyers would argue they had to try.

To no one’s surprise, the trial judge turned down the request, although Agradaa’s legal team claims the battle is far from over.

For her own mental health, we would suggest that Nana Agradaa start accepting the fact that she is going to remain in jail for at least the next ten years.

Otherwise, this roller coaster of appeal attempts might leave her more demoralised and make facing reality more daunting for her.
