Daddy Lumba Is Dead – Family Confirms

Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has died. He was 60.
In a statement, his family announced the tragic news.
The confirmation comes after a few hours of conflicting information on the legend’s death.
News broke out on social media early on Saturday that the legendary singer had died.
Numerous blogs carried the information, and some prominent Ghanaians also shared it, expressing sorrow and celebrating the life of the musician.
However, not long after the viral news, other sources came out to debunk it.
Popular disc jockey and media personality Andy Dosty denied the trending news in a segment on Hitz Fm.
He said his checks indicate that Daddy Lumba is alive and well, declaring that the legend lives.
“To be very honest, the legend is still alive. Daddy Lumba is still alive. He is not dead. Ignore the rumours. They’re not true. Ignore them,” he said.
The back-and-forth over Daddy Lumba’s supposed death has created a pensive atmosphere among Ghanaians on social media, as many hope that the denials are not true and that the initial reportage of Daddy Lumba’s passing is not true.
Over the years, the legendary singer has faced multiple death rumors.
In 2013, 2015, and 2020, there have been different reports of Lumba’s death.
This has led popular actor-turned-media personality George Quaye to declare on social media, “One man, they kill him at least once every year. Why?”
