Theresa Abebrese’s Family Deny Claims by Lumba’s Former Teacher That Her Parents Married her to A Rich Man

The family of Daddy Lumba‘s reported first girlfriend, Theresa Abebrese, has denied claims of marrying her off to a rich man.

Daddy Lumba’s former teacher and adopted mother, Mama Acheampong, claimed in an interview that the claims that Lumba left Theresa to marry in Germany were incorrect.

She said Lumba was still in love with Abebrese, but her parents married her off to a rich elder man.

Acheampong said Lumba was left heartbroken after this, leading him to even write some ‘diss songs’ against the man.

However, in a swift rebuttal, Theresa Abebrese’s family said Daddy Lumba’s former teacher was lying.

According to a woman purporting to represent the family, Lumba married first in Germany and broke Theresa Abebrese’s heart.

They said the claims by Mama Acheampong were hurtful and threatened to sue her if she does not stop lying about the family.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

He passed away at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, where he had been rushed after falling ill.

Lumba is survived by two wives – Akosua Serwaaa and Priscilla Ofori-Atta – and ten children.

Lumba’s death shocked the nation and sparked a period of nationwide mourning.

Celebrities, including prominent Ghanaians such as Nana Akufo-Addo, Kojo Antwi, J.A. Adofo, Mahamudu Bawumia, Delay, Efia Odo, Master Richard, Emelia Brobbey, Efya, and others, have visited the home to mourn with the family.
