Top British Diplomat Visits Lumba’s House to Mourn

Daddy Lumba‘s legend crossed borders! A top British diplomat has stormed his home to join the throng of Ghanaians mourning with the family of the late music legend.

The Deputy British High Commissioner to Ghana, Keith McMahon, stormed the home of the late music legend on Monday, August 4, 2025, to pay his respects to his family.

McMahon arrived at the Lumba in the morning and was ushered onto the compound by family members.

Since Daddy Lumba’s death, dignitaries from all across the country have stormed his home to mourn with his grieving family, pay their last respects and sign the book of condolence.

Daddy Lumba died on Saturday, July 26, 2025, after he fell ill at his home in East Legon.

He was rushed to the Bank Hospital in Accra but, tragically, did not make it.

His death was announced by his family, who released a statement on Instagram.

“With profound sorrow and deep grief, the Fosu family announces the passing of Ghana’s beloved musical icon, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away earlier today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness.” the statement read.

It continued: “Daddy Lumba was more than a musician; he was a cultural icon whose music touched countless lives. His soulful voice provided the soundtrack to our love stories, and his poignant lyrics captured the poetry of our struggles, dreams, and resilience.”

Since his death, prominent Ghanaians including Nana Akufo-Addo, Kojo Antwi, J.A. Adofo, Mahamudu Bawumia, Delay, and others have visited the home to mourn with the family.

It’s gratifying to see that Lumba’s influence extends beyond the shores of Ghana, to the extent that foreign embassies now feel compelled to send emissaries to greet his family.

A legend such as him comes around once in a blue moon, and his death has really illustrated that his legacy would live on forever.
