Ghana’s New Delegation Sworn Into Pan-African Parliament

Three Ghanaian Members of Parliament—Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, and Frank Annoh-Dompreh—have been sworn in as the country’s new representatives to the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to African unity, legislative cooperation, and democratic development.
The swearing-in took place during the Fifth Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament, which ran from July 16 to August 1, 2025, in Midrand, South Africa.
The trio now joins lawmakers from across the African Union (AU) member states in deliberations on issues of continental importance, including peace and security, youth empowerment, climate action, and intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Their appointment has been received with optimism among stakeholders, who view Ghana’s new delegation as a valuable addition to the Pan-African legislative space.
Each of the appointees brings a unique strength: Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, a lawyer by profession, is expected to provide strong input on constitutional and legal matters.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, with her public health and environmental advocacy background, is poised to influence sustainable development policies.
Frank Annoh-Dompreh, a seasoned legislator and current Minority Chief Whip, is anticipated to play a central role in enhancing institutional dialogue and parliamentary strategy.
Beyond its symbolic function, the Pan-African Parliament is a vital organ of the African Union, established to give voice to African citizens in continental governance.
As a consultative and legislative body, PAP aims to deepen democratic values, encourage good governance, and facilitate African integration.
