Nana Agradaa Convicted of Defrauding by False Pretences, Faces Jail Time
The head pastor of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, Nana Agradaa, has been convicted by an Accra Circuit Court of defrauding by false pretences and charlatanic advertisement.
At a court hearing on Thursday, July 3, 2025, trial judge Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah, announced the former priestess’ fate in the long-running trial.
Agradaa was also ordered to undergo a pregnancy test before a sentence was passed on her for her crimes.
GHOne TV reported on Twitter: “Founder of Heaven Way Church, Patricia Asiedua popularly known as Nana Agradaa has been convicted by the Circuit Court for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretenses.“
They added: “The court, presided over by Her Honor Evelyn Asamoah has ordered a pregnancy test to be conducted on her before sentencing…”
Following the judge’s order, Agradaa was dragged to the hospital for the test to be carried out.
The charges against Nana Agradaa stem back to 2022, when she was accused of advertising on her channel, Today TV, and other platforms that she can double any amount of money an individual gives her.
The prospective clients were asked to attend an all-night service at her church, where they paid their money to her.
According to police, over 1,000 people handed over huge sums of money to her but never received any doubled sums or even their original contributions back.
Analysis of Nana Agradaa’ conviction
The conviction of Nana Agradaa for her engagement in fraudulent acts is long overdue.
She engaged in such acts long before becoming a woman of God, under the banner of her ‘sika gari’ priestess persona.
Allowing her to even transition to become a woman of God to continue the same scam under the banner of a church was a huge travesty of justice.
Hopefully, she finally gets what she deserves with a hefty jail sentence.
