He Talks Big and Small, He’s a Shame – Tony Aidoo Slams Special Prosecutor
Dr. Tony Aidoo has slammed Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, accusing him of underperformance and excessive media engagement without tangible results.
The former Senior Presidential Aide and Head of the Policy Evaluation and Oversight Unit under the late President John Evans Atta Mills, expressed frustration at the lack of meaningful prosecutions since the Special Prosecutor took office.

“So far, we have had the Attorney General, in the quest to be transparent, bring out some steps he has taken to bring certain people to book, but we have not seen any prosecution yet. And I don’t trust the Special Prosecutor,” he stated bluntly.
He criticised Mr. Agyebeng for what he described as prioritising media visibility over building credible legal cases.
“He talks big and small. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He is a shame.
“He has never succeeded in any prosecution on corruption, so what are we paying him for?” Dr. Aidoo fired in an interview on Joy News on Thursday, July 17.
Dr. Tony Aidoo is a seasoned Ghanaian academic, diplomat, and politician known for his outspoken views on governance and accountability.
He was Ghana’s Ambassador to the Netherlands under President Mahama.
With a background in sociology, international relations, and law, Dr. Aidoo has held key roles in government and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including directing research and monitoring.
He was also part of the Consultative Assembly that drafted Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.
Dr. Aidoo is widely regarded as a blunt and fearless critic, often weighing in on issues of corruption, democracy, and national leadership.
Indeed, until the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng effects any arrests, his routine continues to be showmanship.
At the moment, both the past government that appointed him and the current government have issues with him.
Largely, Ghanaians expect him to walk the talk by arresting and jailing corrupt officials—something he has failed to do since succeeding Martin Amidu.
