I Pray the NPP Never Recovers – Agbavitor Shockingly Declares

The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor, has slammed the New Patriotic Party (NPP), casting doubts on its ability to recover and calling for its continued disunity.

His comments come in the wake of the NPP’s recent National Delegates Conference.

Agbavitor did not hold back in expressing his hopes for the political downfall of the ruling party.

“Hmmm… as for the NPP, they are just playing and making a mockery of themselves. The first thing I would advise them to do is learn how to live together.

That is a party torn into stress. Even when it comes to doing the right thing, they can’t. I’m not here to advise them, but I wish and pray that the NPP will continue to be disunited.

In fact, I pray that they remain disunited to the point where they can’t even come together to ask anyone to vote for them.

That is my prayer for the NPP. I don’t wish them well, I don’t wish them to survive, and I don’t wish them success in returning to power,” he stated in an interview with Adom News.

Agbavitor also made serious allegations against the party’s Ashanti Regional leadership, using them as an example of the NPP’s alleged culture of corruption.

“Aaah, why should I wish them well when their Ashanti Regional Chairman alone can walk into Exim Bank and take several millions of cedis to splurge on fancy cars?

The same chairman goes and destroys our forests and water bodies, and you expect me to allow this party to return to power and destroy the country again?

We have children, and the future of this country is critical. Look at the corruption everywhere — at COCOBOD, GNPC, and all state institutions. I don’t wish the NPP well,” he continued.

He further criticised the NPP’s handling of the galamsey (illegal mining) menace, accusing the government of inconsistency and hypocrisy.

“Their pledge to end galamsey has crashed into chaos. The president calls it a national emergency, yet refuses to declare a state of emergency,” Agbavitor said.

Agbavitor also condemned what he described as “a brazen assault on our judiciary,” claiming that under the guise of a reset agenda, the NPP had initiated “a shameful vilification of our Chief Justice.”

His comment may be humorous, but it highlights the depth of ignominy the NPP has sunk into.

And as long as they remain in that state—evident in the name-calling and internal divisions instead of putting their house in order—I’m afraid the NDC will have a field day dominating the political landscape.
