Assaulted GhOne TV journalist speaks
Speaking following the incident, the journalist, Eric Banahene, said he was asked by police officers to leave where he was reporting from, which he refused to do.
He said that during this altercation, one officer slapped him.
Banahene was seen with a bruise on his face and looking visibly shaken from the assault.
“I was sitting there quietly watching what is going on there. I was there, and one Inspector came to approach me that I should leave the premises. I said, ‘no, I can’t go.’ Then he slapped me. It took another officer to separate him,” he said.

The disgraceful conduct by the Ghana Police officer must be punished to the full extent of the law.
Police officers are supposed to maintain law and order and not to break it, and whenever they do so, they must face full consequences.
The belief by some Ghana Police officers that they’re above the law must be fully uprooted to ensure that they understand their position in law enforcement does not mean they can do whatever they like, whenever they like!
