Sammy Gyamfi Sues Afia Schwarzenegger For GHC 10m Over Claims of Buying Cars for Legon Girls
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, has filed a defamation lawsuit against media personality Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger, over comments she allegedly made in a viral TikTok video.
According to the Statement of Claim filed at the High Court in Accra, Sammy Gyamfi is seeking general damages, a public retraction, an apology, and an injunction restraining Afia Schwarzenegger from making any further defamatory statements about him.
The plaintiff’s legal team, led by Saani Mahmoud Abdul-Rasheed of SUSTINERI ATTORNEYS PRUC, contends that Afia Schwarzenegger published several statements in Asante Twi on TikTok that were “false, malicious, and defamatory” and had the effect of injuring Sammy Gyamfi’s reputation.
The plaintiff argues that these statements are baseless and have damaged his reputation both personally and professionally.
In his suit, Gyamfi is demanding:
- A declaration that the statements are defamatory,
- GHS 10 million in exemplary damages,
- A full-page apology to be published on the front and back pages of the Daily Graphic for three consecutive editions,
- Removal of the defamatory content from all social media platforms,
- And legal costs.
The court documents indicate that the writ was issued on July 22, 2025, and is to be served to Afia Schwarzenegger in the United States, where she currently resides.
